It would be great to have the option to turn notifications ON/OFF.
Also select a specific sound for it's notification.
Better if separated between mail and calendar.
Could also have a date/time modifier, i.e., notifications allowed only monday to friday between 9AM and 5PM (or a custom date/time range).

Yes. The notification settings seem to be entirely hit-and-miss. Some people can't turn them on, others can't turn them off. I want to turn them off. Under Android 5.0 I did, and got no notification or sound--exactly what I wanted. Now with 5.1 I can't stop the sounds. There is a simple on/off notification setting but it doesn't have enough options and doesn't work. The annoying thing is that it used to work. Other users also have problems getting the options they want. There are many different suggestions on this site that boil down to the same thing; add up all the votes and you'll see what a priority it really is.

I agree, the fact that the app uses the default notification sound for email is driving me nuts. Please provide the option to select a different notification sound for emails and another for calendar entries. Would also be nice to have a do not disturb, and priority senders only individual and domain (*@email.com). But mainly just let the app have a selectable notification sounds with on/off/vibrate. This request seems to have been around in various forms for several years now, please update.

This problem is driving me nuts. I DO NOT WANT AN AUDIBLE NOTIFICATION FOR EVERY EMAIL THAT ARRIVES! There is no way to turn notifications off. I do want calendar notifications, but not email. Please fix this NOW!

It would be nice to be able to control which notifications we receive.
I want the calendar notifications on my phone, but not e-mail ones.
This option would be really appreciated.
I still do not receive aural notifications of arriving Mail on my iPhone. I was sent as "access code" and told to " enter into OWA" but no instruction where? I entered in what seemed like a logical spot and the only result was that the mobile app requires the code EVERY TIME I GO TO READ AN EMAIL.
